What is global warming?

Global warming refers to the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's oceans and atmosphere. 

Global warming and climate change have the same main cause, the massive emission of different greenhouse gases, known as the greenhouse effect. 

The "greenhouse effect" is the warming that occurs when certain gases in the earth's atmosphere retain heat. These gases allow light to pass through but retain heat.
